Trenton - Ingersoll

Firefighter Theme
Pocket Watch
This timepiece is
extremely scarce for many different reasons!!
First of all,
it was manufactured by the early Trenton Watch Company of Trenton New
Jersey. With respect to other American watch companies that built tens
of millions of watches over sometimes a century or more, Trenton only
produced watches between 1889-1907. Trenton sold to
Ingersoll in 1908.
Next,
nearly all of the Ingersoll watches were manufactured as inexpensive
non-jeweled "Pin-Lever" movements. The Trenton movements however were
fully jeweled higher grade movements.
Next,
this movement is a rare 3-Finger Bridge with Straight-line damaskeening,
screw-down jewel settings and a micrometer regulator.
Next,
this classic timepiece is cased in its original factory hallmarked "T I"
(Trenton Ingersoll) 25 year 14 Karat Gold Filled case. These are the
highest grade of case built next to solid 14 Karat Gold.
Next,
the case condition is in outstanding near mint condition with a blank
hand engraved initial shield. The case is an American 16 Size Case.
49.45mm in diameter
(not measuring the stem,
sleeve, crown or bow). Next,
this has an Outstanding double sunk Mint Condition Porcelain dial
with a multicolor early Firefighter scene. This is from a famous
painting done after the great Chicago Fire of 1871 depicting a
Firefighter coming down a fire charred ladder rescuing a baby.
Next,
"ANY" Firefighter themed pocket watch is very
scarce. We normally only acquire 2-3 per year, and those seem to sell
quite quickly.
