Hale E. Dougherty an Orange County Ca. physician was politically active & had an active sense of humor. His entrepreneurial spirit inspired him and his wife to market a Spiro Agnew wristwatch. This watch only started out as a joke, but unexpectedly took the nation by storm in the early 1970's selling only a few thousand.

All high polished Gold Plated top, sides, bezel, and Extended lugs and case back. Case measures 33mm in diameter (not counting the stem & crown) by 42mm lug to lug

MINT Condition original multicolored enameled dial with the caricature of Spiro Agnew in red white & blue. The hands are fully animated, and both hands are flashing the "peace sign".

This watch is in "outstanding" mechanical as well as cosmetic condition! It comes with an original 1970's wide "mod" style Saddle Leather strap as well as a New Old Stock Hadley Roma genuine blue lizard strap that matches the blue on the dial perfectly!!
